Welcome to Reston Now!

Mercury Fountain at Reston Town Center

Oct. 28 is an exciting day in Reston. Today we are launching a brand-new news site devoted to Reston.

Many of you know me, Karen Goff, as the editor of Reston Patch the last 3 1/2 years. I am happy to announce I am teaming with Scott Brodbeck, the founder of successful hyperlocal site ARLnow.com, to create a hyperlocal news site, RestonNow.com.

Managing Reston Now will enable me to get back to covering the news that is important to our community. It will be an online publication that is updated throughout the day, Monday through Friday. It will bring you the news you need to know, especially business, development, real estate, schools, Silver Line, breaking news, crime and whatever else is happening in and around Reston. This is an important time for the Reston community, and I think it is crucial for a site strictly devoted to hyperlocal news.

Here are some details:

You can find the site here: www.restonnow.com

While you are there, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and click the envelope on the top right of the page to subscribe to Reston Now’s free daily afternoon newsletter.

To add your organization’s event to our event calendar, click here.

To get in touch with me, you can reach me by phone at 703-380-3183 or by email at [email protected]. To add Reston Now to your organization’s general email list, use [email protected].

Have a news tip? Send it to [email protected].

I hope you will be a part of the community at Reston Now. Send us news tips, comment on stories, and stay tuned for a dedicated message boards section coming soon. You can also write letters to the editor, answer poll questions and send me your best pictures.

Thanks in advance for reading and see you around Reston (I am usually at the South Lakes Starbucks if you want to say hi)!
