Police: Accused Reston Burglar May Have Hit 16 Homes

Daniel Stanley/FCPD PhotoA Reston man arrested for six counts of burglary may have been involved in as many as 16 crimes in the neighborhoods off North Shore Road.

Daniel Stanley, 26, was arrested by Fairfax County Police on Nov. 18 and charged with six counts of burglary and one count of possession of stolen property.

However, NBC4 obtained search warrant documents that show law enforcement officials believe he may have hit many more homes during daylight hours between August and November. Court documents show Stanley was targeting homes and apartments near his girlfriend’s home.

Police  said several laptops were stolen from the townhouses. One of the computers later showed up at a nearby pawn shop under Stanley’s name, so police  sought search warrants to search Stanley’s girlfriend’s home and car, police said. She has not been charged.
