Fairfax County Police have offered a few additional details about the alleged incident at Fox Mill Tae Kwon Do that led to last week’s arrest of instructor Han I. Tak.
Police arrested Tak — known at the studio as “Master Han” — last week after a 15-year-old girl said Tak, 30, touched her inappropriately at the studio in late June.
After an investigation, police arrested Tak on July 1 and charged him with one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor. He was released on his own recognizance.
Tak is back at work at the studio that is owned by his family, a studio spokesman said.
Tak’s family started the studio nearly 20 years ago. Many former students and parents took to Yelp in the last week to offer good words about him.
“The Taks are an outstanding, honest, and giving family that has made tremendous sacrifices since coming to the USA to care for a totally disabled daughter,” wrote one poster.
“The Taks are some of the most respectful and kind people I have ever met and this becomes evident to others when new students and parents come and attend or observe classes, but also during the annual school picnic and annual Holiday Party.”
