Reston Man Killed in Newport News Car Crash

Virginia State PoliceA 42-year-old Reston man was killed early Wednesday when his Volvo ran off the road and hit a tree near Newport News, Virginia State Police said.

Authorities said Charles Carroll Roder III was driving westbound on I-64 about 3:55 a.m. when the crash occurred, the Daily Press reported.

Roder suffered major injuries and was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, chpolice said.

Roder was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, police said.
