There were people painting, repairing, singing, speaking and discussing at Reston Community Center’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day events in Reston over the holiday weekend.
Highlights included a large group of volunteers helping at Southgate Community Center Saturday; concerts by the Reston Community Orchestra and various groups at the annual “Voices of Inspiration” concert; and a keynote speech and performance on the progress of race in America by actor and playwright Anna Deveare Smith.
