Police: Burglary, Robbery and Police Chase in Reston District

Fairfax County Police A burglary, a robbery and a police chase that ended in the arrest of a teen driver lead Fairfax County Police’s Reston District Station police reports for the week ending Sept. 27.

The burglary, in the 12100 block of Quorn Lane in Reston, was reported to police Monday about 9:23 p.m. The homeowner said someone entered his garage and took his bicycle and his backpack. There is no suspect information.

The robbery occurred in the 13200 block of Parcher Avenue in Herndon, where a woman said a man assaulted her and stole her wallet on Sept. 23.

The woman, age 36, was walking alone about 5:25 a.m. when she heard someone call out to her from behind. When she turned around, a man assaulted her and took her wallet, then fled. The suspect was described as black, between 18 and 20 years old, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 160 pounds. He wore a black hoodie and black pants. The victim did not require medical attention, police said.

In the driving incident, an 18-year-old was charged with reckless driving, speed to elude and driving without an operator’s license. Police said they tried to stop Michael A. Ramirez-Bathiche of Sterling for speeding at Fairfax County Parkway and Sugarland Valley Drive about 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 22.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and pull over and a traffic pursuit began. The pursuit ended near Wiehle Avenue and Shaker Woods Road in Herndon when the suspect lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road, police said.
