Search Warrants Reveals Details of Reston Couple’s Murder

Search warrants obtained by the Washington Post paint a disturbing scene inside the house of the Reston couple who police believe were shot and killed by a 17-year-old known to the family.

Scott Fricker, 48, and his wife, Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, 43, were shot to death days before Christmas in their home on Black Fir Court.

Investigators found 10 cartridge cases, a knife, a hammer, and blood-stained walls in the hallway and bedroom, the hallway floor and the bedroom door. Bullet fragments were also found in an office, ceiling and hallway.

According to the Post, details unveiled in the warrants confirm national news media accounts about the incident. Family and friends have said the family attempted to stage an intervention with the daughter of the couple after her mother discovered a Twitter account she believed was tied to the teen. The account contains ant-Semitic and anti-gay posts and calls for a “white revolution.”

The warrants indicate the suspect and the family had a verbal confrontation. One individual told detectives that the couple heard a sound inside the home and found the suspect inside their daughter’s bedroom. Based on the account, the couple told the teen to leave, after which he shot himself in the head.

Investigators also found gun parts, ammunition and a gun box in the suspect’s Lorton home. The teen remains in critical condition.
