Photography by Carla Steckley
Exhibit Date: October 30 – November 27
Reception: Sunday, November 12, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Carla Steckley has been capturing the beauty of the world with her camera for over 20 years. Her career as an award-winning photographer is on beautiful display in this November exhibit in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery. Carla’s distinctive images have been shown in the Smithsonian’s Museum of Natural History and the Washington National Cathedral, on covers of Missouri Magazine, in The Washington Times, on the New York Institute of Photography’s web site, and in her book, “Black and White Infrared Photography.” published by The Northern Virginia Alliance of Camera Clubs. This exhibit, her retrospective, includes early black and white work with an emphasis on infrared photography that was produced in the traditional wet darkroom. Beginning in 2006 when she transitioned to digital, her images will feature her work with color and be presented on archival fine art paper or canvas.
