Virginians are encouraged to give back to their community during September 2014 as part of of the national Day to Serve initiative. Visit www.daytoserve.org for more information or to locate another activity.
We will have three activities ongoing on September 13, 2004. We will meet at 9:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2727 Centreville Road, Herndon, Virginia for doughnuts and juice with a brief history of Day to Serve. Then we will break into groups based upon interest.

1. Red Cross Blood Drive- to sign up to donate blood, please visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code 05315547. You may also call 1-800-733-2767 and provide sponsor code 05315547 to schedule an appointment. If you need help scheduling an appointment, contact Tonya Williams at [email protected]
2. Clean up at Frying Pan Meeting House located at 2615 Centreville Road, Herndon, Virginia. Frying Pan Meeting House is an historic church building dating back to 1791. We will paint the exterior fence, clean the windows and interior of the building, pick up debris in the cemetery and on trails.
3. Kick off diaper Drive for Serve a Village/Northern Virginia Diaper Drive. Volunteers are needed to go out into the community introduce themselves, talk about Day to Serve and Diaper Need Awareness Week, which ends on 9/14/14, and ask community members to donate to Serve a Village or provide diaper donations which can be delivered to the Chantilly Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 9/20/14. We will also pick up diaper donations if needed.
