Grow Your Health Festival: Gardening, Local Food & Wellness Event

Fairfax High School

3501 Rebel Run

Fairfax, Virginia 22030

This 4th annual event has grown to a larger venue with more exhibitors offering more to see, hear, taste, and do. Meet local farmers, learn about organic gardening and food, healthy options, see a film, buy local food products, and more. Admission includes classes and demonstrations on topics of beginning and advanced gardening, finding local food sources, different approaches to healthy eating, and how holistic health differs from conventional health care. The event will present the Northern Virginia debut of the documentary film Growing Cities, and also offers several hours of supervised, age-appropriate activities for children, including gardening classes, kids’ yoga, indoor recess and quiet floor play. Organic, non-GMO snacks and lunch are available for purchase.
Mission: The Grow Your Health Festival (GYH) teaches people how to grow their own food or identify sources of locally grown, organic farm-grown food for a joyful and nutritious diet. The Festival provides tips on how people can garden their way to good health, understand what “organic” really means, find sources for local organic food and make sustainable, healthy food and wellness choices. For details and healthy tips, follow on Facebook/GrowYourHealthFestival, and visit the event website for more information, www.GrowYourHealthnova.com. Tickets: Advance/online: $10 adults. At the door, $15 adults. Children 16 and under free.
