Sharon Canner provides an overview from the Village to Village 2014 National Gathering
Sharon Canner provides organizational and developmental expertise to Reston for a Lifetime, helping to expand its ability to serve the needs of a growing population. To this task, she brings extensive experience in advocacy, government relations, management, health policy and health information technology. In June, Canner retired from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) where she served for six years as Senior Director of Public Affairs, having established CHIME’s advocacy program.

Her educational background includes a Post-Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, George Washington University, and MA and BA from Northeastern University. She is an active volunteer with PRS, which serves adults with serious mental illness and intellectual disabilities; and Pathway Homes that provides housing and support services for adults with mental illness and co-occurring disabilities. Canner lives in Reston and is the proud grandmother of two, ages 19 months and 3 weeks.
