The one thing the article didn’t address is how many of our tax dollars were spent in support of the Fairfax rescue team’s efforts in Nepal. As a “$1.090 per hundred” contributor, I think I have a vested interest in the use of my tax dollars.

As the federal sponsoring agency, USAID pays for all costs and expenses incurred by VATF-1 when members are activated or undergo training. All training, equipment, and personnel costs of VATF-1 are paid for by the federal government on a regular basis. Additionally, when firefighters and members are deployed, there is no loss in emergency response or service to Fairfax County residents, as minimum staffing for all apparatus is continuous for all fire and rescue stations.
I bet they got some good experience over there.

Chuck, since you don’t pay Federal taxes, you have no cause for concern about how Federal tax dollars are used, so there!

And it’s a good thing too since USAID money comes from a secret money tree!
