SunFairfax County is currently under a heat advisory, along with much of the D.C. metro area.

As of 1:55 p.m., the heat index for Reston, Va. was 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The area will remain under advisory until 8 p.m.  The heat index is expected to hover around 100 degrees throughout the rest of the afternoon.
