Virginia Man Suing Tropical Smoothie — A man who says he was sickened after drinking smoothies from a Tropical Smoothie in Purcellville this month is suing the chain for $100,000. The company says strawberries purchased from Egypt (and no longer being used at the stores) may be linked to 28 confirmed Northern Virginia Hepatitis A cases. South Lakes High School to Host Block Party — South Lakes High School will host its 7th annual block party this Friday, Sept. 2, from 4-7 p.m. The party will take place on the stadium side of the parking lot and is set to include several food trucks and vendors, school spirit clothing sales and a “Hand on a Bus” competition, according to organizers.
