AED shortage nearly resolved at Reston Association pools

Over Memorial Day weekend, five of Reston Association’s pools remained closed due to a lack of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), medical devices used in emergencies when someone’s heart stops.

As the second pool season kicked off on Saturday (May 28), Reston Association says the AED shortage is nearly resolved. On Tuesday, RA received four of the five AEDs staff needed.

“We are in good shape as of today,” said Mike Leone, Reston Association spokesperson, in a statement.
