The final hour has descended upon a popular pizza spot in Herndon’s Clock Tower plaza.
Rubino’s Pizzeria‘s last day of business in the location at 2415 B-9 Centreville Road is today (Tuesday), ending a 32-year blitz in the plaza.
The restaurant’s other locations in Ashbrook Commons and Broadlands remain open, and catering orders will be accepted online via www.getrubinos.com.
Vehicle pursuits have come to a near halt amid new rules to avoid overly aggressive policing that can endanger people and communities.
The Fairfax County Police Department recently reported that vehicle pursuits went from above 100 per year in 2019-2021 to one per month as of May 17.
A man was found dead in a wooded area in Reston this morning (Tuesday) in a suspected homicide, Fairfax County Police Department said in a social media post.
The department said detectives are on the scene investigating in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. It said the man was found with trauma and was pronounced deceased.

At a board meeting last night (Thursday), the board narrowly selected John Farrell to take Dowling’s seat from a pool of four candidates who submitted applications.
The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch around 6:20 a.m. today (Friday) that’s in effect until 2 p.m. for Fairfax County and the D.C. region.
Tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and large hail are possible, the NWS said in an alert. A watch means tornadoes are possible, and the NWS Baltimore-Washington said on Twitter that scattered gusts could possibly reach 70 mph.

Middle school sex education classes in Fairfax County will remain separated by gender going into the next school year.
A majority of the Fairfax County School Board agreed on Tuesday (May 24) to postpone a vote on whether to introduce gender-combined Family Life Education (FLE) classes for students in grades 4-8 and 10th grade, along with other proposed changes intended to make the curriculum more inclusive.
