County Kudos  — The Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services recognized the James G. Davis Construction Corporation and Chris York, KCM, Inc. with an award of excellence for their work on construction of the parking garage at the Wiehle-Reston East Silver Line station.

The awards are given annually  to recognize consultant and contractor teams for their work on capital construction projects. Award recipients are selected based on the quality of work in the design or construction phase, their meeting the project schedule and budget and their customer service and responsiveness. Great Start for Seahawks — The South Lakes High School girls basketball game is now 5-0 and ranked No. 6 by the Washington Post after defeating Woodson 71-30 on Saturday. The girls hosts Thomas Jefferson Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and will be raffling off an iPad Mini and an iTunes gift card at the game. Raffle tickets are $10, purchased at the game.
