Progress Report: World of Beer at Reston Town Center

World of Beer is getting things in order to construct its 4,500-square-foot location at The Avant at Reston Town Center.

The bar and restaurant, which signed a lease for the space in July, has applied for its ABC license and is building out the space at 1888 Explorer St.

Owner Evan Metz says World of Beer is planning a spring opening, but no exact date has been set.

World of Beer is a Florida-based national franchise. Metz also owns the WOB in Ballston, which opened in summer 2012. WOB has about 500 different beers that rotate through the menu, including 50 on tap, says Metz. The restaurant will also have a full menu.

WOB will also have drink specials nightly and happy hour Monday through Friday, as well as live music Thursdays through Saturdays.

WOB is one of several ground-floor tenants in The Avant, Boston Properties’ new luxury residential building across from Reston Town Square Park. The Avant welcomed its first tenants in late 2013 and has units available for lease.

Other new tenants planned for the building are a CVS store, Barcelona Wine Bar and Bartaco Restaurant.

    So excited for this!

Why another restaurant? If would be nice to make this ‘downtown’ area more livable for the residents. Why not a small grocery store so we don’t have to drive the car to the nearest market? Make this area of Reston more community-based-

  • Hate lazy people

Liz, suck it up and walk to Harris Teeter two blocks away……….

The place is terrible! Jeremy the Manager is incompetent as they still have a Sexual Predator working as a bouncer there. The guy is showing his pic of his private parts to the patrons and the Jeremy still has this individual employed there! Just plain ridiculous!
