Reston drivers take distraction to a whole new level. I have seen one woman reading a kindle propped in the center of her steering wheel, another eating soup or oatmeal or stew with a spoon, a man shaving and another woman who appeared to be separating her eyelashes with a straight pin. The last one was at a stop light, but had anyone so much as tapped her car she could end up with some serious vision problems. I also saw a woman on the phone and pushing a baby carriage step in front of an oncoming car with a driver also on the phone. He swerved and missed, but she never missed a beat of the obviously important phone call. In fact nothing interrupts a cell phone conversation; Not backing out of a parking space or trying to pull into one, not changing lanes, paying a toll or pumping gas.
