Fill This Space: Jasmine Cafe

Jasmine Cafe is closedJasmine Cafe, the longtime Lake Anne Plaza restaurant, has been closed for a month ever since the landlord locked out the owner for rent that was in arrears.

It does not appear the restaurant will reopen.

Lake Anne Plaza is home to several other restaurants, including Cafe Montmartre, Kalypso’s, Singh Thai and Lake Anne Coffee House.

Jasmine Cafe had been located at Lake Anne for more than 20 years. The restaurant has a local following for owner/chef Eduardo Faubert and his seasonal menu, as well as outdoor seating on the plaza.

What do you think should open in this spot? Tell us in the comments.

An locally owned ice cream place would be nice: maybe that one that sells ice vream at the farmer’s market. Or a store that sells cool crafts like Appalachian Spring or even 10000 Villages.

I’d like to see another restaurant…there are so few restaurants with outdoor seating and a nice view in Reston…Lake Anne is the best area for that….I know the outdoor seating at Jasmine wasn’t big but it wasn’t something.

I Think Jasmines has a shot. No one realizes the cost of operating in the plaza? The infrastructure is so old and extremely expensive to operate? Therein lies the problem…

sorry, but similar to the lakeside inn this place needs to be gutted.
twenty years of neglect as is the whole of the lake ann center. would like to see a
new restaurant, but who will invest in such a desolate center.

Lets hope a more responsible, health concious person comes into this little place. I believe there was or is, alot of problems with the owner.
