Food Truck Wednesdays at Reston Town Center

What are you doing for lunch today?

Starting Wednesday, June 25, Reston Town Square Park will host food trucks the last Wednesday of the month. The event will run through late October.

Here is who will be parked at Town Square Park (at Explorer and Market Streets and Town Square Park in Reston Town Center) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today: Doug the Food Dude, The Big Cheese, DC Empanadas, and That Cheesecake Truck.

Another popular food truck spot in Reston is on Business Center Drive off of Sunset Hills Road. A rotating group of three or four trucks is parked there daily.

Fairfax County is considering new zoning rules that will make it easier and less expensive for food trucks to do business here.

Know the restaurants must love this action.

  • I cross my fingers that Fairfax will make it easier and cheaper for the Food Trucks to operate in Reston and thus support the up and coming entrepreneurs of the area! Great Food Too!! One day a month is not enough 🙁 I do like the folks that come to Business Center Drive and wish it would be easier for the vendors to operate in Reston in more locations!

Is there place to find out what food trucks will be there each wednesday or is it the same ones?

Reston Town Center usually announces which trucks will be there, and I post it here, as in the story above. It is just once a month though. There are food trucks daily on Business Center Drive off of sunset hills. There is about 4 on any given day, but no central place where they announce in advance.

I am all in favor of lunchtime food trucks in Reston Town Center. They provide a tasty alternative to the high-priced restaurants … and maybe that is why they are not allowed? I would prefer to give my lunch money to a local entrepreneur than to the corporations behind RTC’s Big Box restaurants. Plus, as anyone who has tried La Tingeria food truck can attest, the food can be awesome!
