Fill This Space: Hunters Woods Village Center

by Karen Goff — September 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm 10 Comments

Solar Planet storefront

Solar Plant Tanning Salon shut its doors at Hunters Woods Village Center in August.

The departure of the longtime tenant leaves an empty storefront at Hunters Woods Village Center.

There are already a few empty spots at Hunters Woods. The former Lady of America gym space has been vacant for a year. The space that houses Cafe at Play children’s play space has been empty for several years, as a small space next to edible arrangements has been vacant for some time.

So, what do you think should go in this spot? What is Hunters Woods missing? Tell us in the comments.

Who cares? I have boycotted this place ever since they replaced the old user friendly villge center with this barren monstrosity.

Didn’t the article about Solar Planet’s lease not being renewed note that the owner was told there was a new tenant for that space already lined up?

    • Karen Goff

Upon further review of the story, yes, the solar planet owner did say that. Oh well not necessarily a done deal and this is all just polling the readers anyway 🙂

How about a bookstore? 🙂 Seriously, a Subway would be nice.

Mexican type restaurant , if the size of the place is adequate.

The old “user friendly” village center was torn down because of crime. The Center was redesigned to rid the center of the previous problems. The wide open feel encourages more people visiting the center.

Cathie – I don’t think that is true. From my research over the years, it was the layout that did not lead to business success – ie, people wanted to be able to see the stores and easily park outside of them. The same problem that historically at Lake Anne.

    A mini-bookstore would be nice.

We should also remember that, in August of 2013, John McCain and Lindsey Graham were adamantly insisting that the US to provide weapons to ISIS.
