My husband and I have been trying to report thefts from both of our vehicles in the Shadowood Community on January 2nd but have been unable to get Fairfax County Police to respond to our attempts to file a police report. Sunglasses, an iPod, and an EZPass were stolen.

Good luck. They have not really cared about these crimes for a couple of decades, even though more than 90% of the perps lurk in the wee hours and hit the same neighborhoods again and again..

There’s a form you can fill out on their website to let them know.

Cops are probably scared to go to Shadowood. It is a slum. When my car was broken into last year off of Fairway Dr., the cops told me “well, you live near the low income housing”.

Shadowood is in south Reston… Fairway Dr. is in north Reston… are you talking about a different slum complex?

I was just referring generally to all the low income housing areas. When my car was broken into, the cops were referring to the apartment slums at the corner of Fairway and North Shore. I think they are called Fairway Apartments. My humble townhome is worth about 500K and cops say its near the “low income” area.

Such are the boundless joys of diversity!

Reston. A place for all to Live, Work & Play. All we need is more low income housing to realize the Socialist vision of Robert Simon.

I am going to conveniently ignore the fact that a disproportionate percentage of these crimes happened in the Hunters Woods hood.
