Give Blood at RCC Today — The American Red Cross will be at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for a blood drive. The drive is the bat mitzvah project of Langston Hughes Middle School student Hannah Altman. [LHMS]

SLHS Track Kudos — Seniors Delaney Wickman, Claire Nieusma, junior Golden Kumi-Darfour and sophomore Nikayla Hoyte ran a state-meet qualifying time of 4:02.30 in the winning the girls 4×400 relay at the Flames Invitational High School track and field meet Jan. 9-10 at Liberty University in Lynchburg. The SLHS girls relay team beat out nationally-ranked Parklawn High School of Winston-Salem, N.C. in that race.
