Ben & Jerry's at Reston Town CenterTuesday, April 14 is national Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s.

Reston’s Ben & Jerry’s, located at 11928 Market St. at Reston Town Center, is participating from 12 to 8 p.m.

Stop by for your free cone and make a donation. All proceeds will benefit charity. The Reston store will give donations to SafeSpot Children’s Advocacy Center of Fairfax County.

Ben & Jerry’s says Free Cone Day is “our way to celebrate and say thanks for another year of support, and we’ve kept it up every year since, spreading the peace, love & ice cream around the globe!”

Ben & Jerry’s also has some tips on how to pass time in line on Free Cone Day.

This article should be considered and advertisement.

And while we’re at it if you fancy an iced treat swing by Iceberry’s instead and support a local business (not common for Reston).

You can actually taste the yoghurt.

I completely disagree. A store is giving away their product for eight hours, in exchange for donations that will given to an organization that helps children in our community. It is a fundraiser and deserving of a 60-word post on our site. Also, FYI, Ben and Jerry’s are franchises, which means they are locally owned.

Iceberry is an international franchise, just like Ben & Jerry’s. Both are owned by local residents, but the model is basically the same. Besides, the donations are going to local kids! That’s awesome. 😀

OK, so the “cone” is free, but how much is the ice cream that goes in it???

    Inquiring minds want to know!

Whew! I really hate it when I get a cone with no ice cream in it, even if it’s free!

  • Can’t we all just get along?
Obviously, both stores are local franchises with owners who put in long days and try to give back to the community
