The advisory covers virtually of the Washington, D.C., area, including Fairfax County and Reston.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING
WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED AHEAD OF A COLD FRONTÂ THAT WILL CROSS THE AREA TONIGHT.
RAINFALL OF ONE TO TWO INCHES WITH LOCALLYÂ HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN AN HOUR. THESE RATES COULD RESULT IN FLASHÂ FLOODING…PARTICULARLY IN URBANIZED AREAS.
