Fairfax County Fire RescueA car was intentionally set on fire at the Total Auto Parks and Paint Store in Herndon on Sunday, and authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects.

Fairfax County Crimesolvers said the suspects also attempted to ignite the building but were unsuccessful.

Town of Herndon Police and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue were called to the businesses at 850 Station Street in Herndon about 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Nearby residents reported hearing a loud explosion, authorities said.

An investigation determined the fire was intentionally set near several vehicles and the building’s exterior. The vehicle was destroyed.

Anyone with information on the fire or the suspect(s) responsible is asked to contact Fairfax County Crime Solvers.
