Fairfax County Police Fairfax County Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Saturday morning in Reston.

Police said a 24-year-old man reported her was walking on Glade Drive near Freetown Court about 5:30 a.m. when a gray SUV pulled up next to him.

A male passenger got out of the SUV, pushed the victim to the ground, produced a handgun and demanded money, police said. The victim handed over his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash and credit cards. The suspect got back into the SUV which then fled west on Glade Drive.

The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male, 30 to 35 years old, wearing dark clothing.

    what a low life

That really did SUC. I’m wondering whether the 24 y.o. had the presence of mind to get the license plate from the SUV as it drove away. Of course, at 5:30 am, if the SUV is driving away with the lights out, I would guess that would be difficult.

At 5:30 it’s still dark and Reston residential doesn’t have street lights — according to the tree huggers – streets lights are not “esthetically pleasing”

According to Google Maps this would appear to be adjacent to the Hunters Wood Village Court. Which of course as you know is South Reston. Once again backing up claims that this is a crime ridden area.

I’d send a cruiser up the road to Reston Interfaith and see if the vehicle is there. Most likely is. Either that or drive down Colts Neck Rd adjacent to the Safeway and see if it’s there.

A crime ridden area, thats to the low income housing.

  • Not_Surprised

I am surprised by the description of the suspect, and the location of the event.

@Not_Surprised – I concur, thank you for making me laugh out loud at work.

Freetown and Glade – not far from the “projects” … lots of crime on that side or Reston Pkwy

Hunters Woods is the ghetto. You go to that safeway you risk getting mugged or worse.

And the police helicopter is circling Hunters Woods again – right now. This is beoming routine.

We can thank Fairfax County Supervisrs for all the subsidized and low income housing – at the taxpayers expense. Millions of dollars every year – for this?

          • Meh

            It’s called the ghetto bird.
