Michelle Obama/Official White House pictureFirst Lady Michelle Obama will hit the campaign trail this week, stumping for
Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine Friday, Sept. 16 at George Mason University in Fairfax.

Says the Clinton campaign: “At a public Democratic Party of Virginia organizing event, the First Lady will urge Virginians, especially young people, to support Clinton and Kaine in November and register to vote ahead of the October 17 deadline.”

The event begins at 3 p.m., with doors opening to the public at 1 p.m. (arrive early; lines tend to be long).

The speech will be at the Johnson Center, George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax.

Interested in attending? RSVP on the Clinton campaign website.

Does Reston Now advertise the visits of the opponents of Hilary Clinton? I clicked on the election 2016 tag (a helpful feature) and I see only Clintonian announcements. I expect this biased behavior of many media outlets. Can I expect better here?

For the 11th time, of course. If a candidate or his/her high-profile surrogates are in fairfax we will post it. We even pointed readers to ashburn (out of our coverage area) for Trump’s visit there. NOT much Republican campaigning here thus far. Thus less coverage.

Great! I didn’t see Trump’s visit under the tag. Probably an error of omission in tagging?

Trump wouldn’t appear in a Democratic stronghold like Reston, where Reston Now focuses its coverage. Clinton needs a big turnout in Fairfax and the other Northern Virginia suburbs to win the state; thus the multiple appearances here by her and her surrogates. Maybe we can get one of them to promise free parking at Reston Town Center.

He might. Not everything he does follows conventional wisdom. By the way your link points to a difference in coverage. Full-scale article versus a roundup reference. And it is not about Reston, as noted by the editor above.

I don’t want to read articles about Loudoun County on Reston Now. I live in Reston and Fairfax County. She is under no obligation to cover events outside of Reston and Fairfax. That is the very nature of a hyperlocal news site.

            Thank you

Mike M. Stop. You have made your point and now are just being a troll. You are on notice and will be banned if you don’t give it a rest.

Stop it Mike! Trump is not welcome here.

        • meh

          An ‘omission’ I’m sure.

Glad to know GMU is in your coverage area. Didn’t know Reston extended that far.
I mean that little foot note about Trump being in Ashburn is nothing really.
