Crime Roundup: Woman Abducted in Sterling and Taken to Reston

Fairfax County Police Two men abducted a woman in Sterling and drove her to Reston Sunday evening, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

A man assaulted his estranged wife and forced her into a vehicle in Sterling just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, a witness told deputies. A male accomplice then drove the kidnapper and the victim to Reston.

Authorities arrested 39-year-old Alex Munguia and his accomplice, 45-year-old Marlen Almendarez-Juarez, in connection with the abduction. The two men are being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond. 

Reston police are also on the lookout for a hungry burglar who broke into a home on North Shore Drive yesterday.

A resident who lives on the 11500 block of North Shore Drive told police that someone entered their apartment through an unlocked bedroom window, ate some food and then left without taking anything else.

Police did not release a description of the burglar.
