Crime Roundup: Bullet Fired Into Townhouse in Herndon

A bullet was fired into a townhouse on Clover Field Circle in Herndon last week.

A report from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Reston Station says the incident happened last Tuesday at about 4:10 p.m.

“A homeowner was standing in the kitchen of her townhouse, which backs up to Fox Mill Road. She heard a loud noise and found a bullet that had been fired through a kitchen window. She was not injured. Responding officers checked the area and conducted a canvass. Witnesses indicated they heard a loud noise similar to a gunshot around the same time. Detectives from the Crime Scene Section responded to process the scene.”

    That’s an odd photo. Is it tilt shifted or something?

      Looks like FCPD roughly blurred the background in the vehicle photo originally posted to their fb page.

        Yeah, on closer inspection it looks like they just did a rough lasso drag around the vehicle and then blurred everything else. What’s weirding me out is that the pavement _in front_ of the SUV is out of focus, but there is a big chunk in the far background that’s in focus, and the background seen through the windows is in focus, as well as odd little pockets of focus where the shape becomes complex and hard to follow with a mouse.

        Just odd. Whatever floats their boat, I guess.
