When are they going to change the name of Temporary Rd?

    • 40yearsinreston

      Why ?
      It has moved twice
It was built as a shortcut between North Shore Drive and Reston Avenue (now called Reston Parkway)

      • jak34005898

a ‘shortcut’ that has become the primary route for most everyone who lives near it and will certainly not be removed any time soon given the amount of traffic that passes through it.Simply rename it New Dominion to line up with the road on the other side of Reston Parkway. Plus, since no buildings actually have their mailing address on it, it would only really matter to everyone’s GPS … but at least then I’d get to stop hearing non-Restonian’s make fun of it whenever they’re coming to my house.

I agree that the traffic situation needs work, but my non-Restonian visitors love the quirky name.

I don’t care what they call it as long as they put a flipping three-way stop in where it meets North Shore.

(NOT a light. That will just make things worse. Come on VDOT, I get that sometimes traffic engineering is complicated, but this one’s a piece of cake.)

Three way stop would back left turning traffic all the way through Reston Parkway. Traffic circle/roundabout is the way to go.

Why not just change it to “Eat Faster. Your Hour Is Almost Up.”
