Let the skating begin — The Reston Town Center ice skating pavilion reopens today, just in time for colder temperatures that are expected to befall the region this week. [Reston Town Center]

841 stronger — The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority worked with 21 businesses in the third quarter of the year to bring in 841 jobs to Fairfax County.     Guilty as charged, I do put plastic bags in the recycle bin because they have a recycle sign on them. It’s ok, from now on I’ll let them fly to the Chesapeake Bay 😉

      The county piece is very misleading. It addresses its own collection base of about 10% of the county.

      The other 90% are serviced by private companies who set their own recycling standards. Ours, for example, collects ALL plastics types 1-7 including Styrofoam and food packages.

        FC’s “When in doubt, throw it out” is an unlikely slogan to encourage people to recycle…

      Make a bag-of-bags for those and drop them at just about any food store in the area. They have bins either just outside or just inside their doors.
