Pet of the Week: Honey, an expert lap warmer who’ll greet you with a chirp

Meet Reston’s latest Pet of the Week, Honey. Honey is an expert lap warmer, and she often greets her humans with a happy chirp. She’s looking for a quiet home with no cats, dogs or kids.

Here’s what else Honey’s friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about her:

If you’re looking for a calm, low-maintenance kitty who is an expert lap warmer, Honey may be the perfect one for you!

Honey instantly captivates with her beautiful, dilute tortie colors and markings. She is an easygoing kitty with excellent house manners. Honey craves companionship and loves to be where her people are. She often greets with a happy chirp. Her favorite pastime is curling up on your lap — she will stay there for hours if you let her! She enjoys a warm sunny spot to catch a snooze and watching wildlife outside as most cats do.

Honey is a great nighttime guardian and likes to snuggle up next to you in bed. It makes her sad if she is not allowed to. She has a little bit of a playful side on occasion — she likes laser lights, catnip toys, cat dancer toys and puff balls. Honey adores treats. She happily purrs while eating her favorites — so cute!

There are some specific preferences Honey wants you to know about. She is a bit of a “hands-off” kitty. She is not a fan of being picked up, brushed or being pet a lot. She will give a warning meow to let you know her limits and will follow with a swat or hiss if her warning isn’t listened to — classic ‘tortitude.’ Honey prefers to be the queen of her castle, she needs to go to a quieter home with no cats, dogs or young children.

Consider giving Honey the loving, forever home she has been waiting for. She is a sweet, quiet and mellow kitty who would love to keep you company for years to come.
