Silver Line Leads — The Washington Post’s Dr. Gridlock says Metro’s Silver Line, which will run from Tysons Corner to Reston’s Wiehle Avenue, will be the top transportation story to watch in 2014. There is still no projected opening date for the rail project, which is now in the testing phase. Stay tuned… [Washington Post]

Building a Barricade — The Reston Community Players are busy preparing for the debut of Les Miserables, which opens at CentreStage on Jan. 17. But the set construction crew needs the community’s help. The crew must build a barricade, a crucial part of the student uprising, which these days costs money, as any revolution does. The paint and glue alone are estimated to cost $400; lumber, $2,500. Can you contribute a few francs (or American dollars)? [Reston Community Players]

Helping Metro Run Smoothly —  Metro is seeking user feedback as it prepares for the 2015 budget. The proposed FY15 budget and Capital Improvement Plan would invest $3 billion in the transportation system and future improvements. So tell Metro how your think the money should be spent — and how much more riders should have to pay by taking an online survey. [Metro]
