Homes are moving off the market at a good clip, with 24 sold in the same 10 day period and 85 moving from Active to Pending.

In Reston, we have a number of apartments that were built in the 1970s that converted to condominiums in the late 1980s. Vantage Hill, Park Crest, and Ivy Oak are just a few of them.
As a Realtor, I always find them interesting. They are mostly tan brick with the ever-present Reston Brown trim. They tend to be a little on the boxy side, a little on the plain side; but most of them are set on really large land parcels. Some are set in the woods, others have open parklike areas, but they all have a lot of open space.
Vantage Hill sits on 15 beautifully wooded acres that have been designated a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Meet Dobbs, this week’s Reston Pet of the Week. Dobbs was recently rescued from a high-kill shelter and is looking for a permanent home.

Dobbs could quite possibly be named Mr. Personality of the entire universe. No lie. This little guy is one of the funniest, happiest, sweetest and most lovable dog we’ve ever met, and he will only go to a home that thinks so too.
Dobbs was rescued from a high-kill shelter where he most likely would not have had a chance. He was almost bald, his body was covered in crusty scabs from demodex, a non contagious, but potentially life threatening issue. All he needed to do was to look up at us with his soft round eyes and we were hooked. We had to help him.
No sooner did we get him back to our facility that we saw his potential. EVERYONE fell in love with him. … He was so grateful to be out of a cold, cement kennel, and it showed.
He is now fully cured, healthy, neutered and is the most hysterical little love bug around.
If you want some sunshine in your life, a smile on your face every single day, and an adorable dog to love you from here to the moon and back — it is Dobbs. He is about 9 months old now, and weighs 23 lbs. He has short little legs, that run like the wind, he loves balls and toys, (not to mention treats) and can stand on his hind legs like a champ. Housing inventory has jumped up to over three-month supply, with 224 homes for sale in Reston. There are 181 homes in a “pending” status and 66 homes sold in the past 30 days.

When most people think of condo living in Reston, they think of the high-rise buildings in and around Reston Town Center. Guess what? Within a half mile of Reston Town Center, you can find a condominium community of townhouses.

Federal employees are usually told that a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is only designed to benefit them and make them better performers. This, unfortunately, is usually not the case.
Managers often promise employees that they will be given special assistance to ensure they are successful during their PIP, only to later find themselves facing termination a few months later when they have not received any of the promised assistance during the PIP process. For this reason, it is crucial that federal employees on PIPs, or those who have just received a poor performance evaluation, be on guard.
Promised Opportunity to Improve
PIP procedures were enacted by Congress and require federal agencies to provide employees with an opportunity to improve prior to taking performance-based actions. The federal statutes, regulations, and case law dealing with the PIP process emphasize the importance of providing an employee with a meaningful opportunity to improve, as a PIP is meant to assist employees in achieving performance goals.
As part of the meaningful opportunity to improve, an employee generally must receive the assistance promised by the agency at the onset of the PIP period. Moreover, a supervisor’s negative actions toward an employee during or after the performance of his or her PIP period may constitute a violation of PIP procedures.

We’re moving into a strong Spring market here in Reston, with somewhat low housing inventory and pent up demand, especially in the mid- to upper-$400 range. Lots of buyers are looking for townhouses in that price point, and the homes are going quickly.
