Rides at Herndon Festival 2013/Credit: Herndon FestivalOld Town Herndon will be transformed with carnival fun for all ages when the 34th annual Herndon Festival is in full swing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The free event features activities music, carnival rides, food vendors, an arts and crafts show and Saturday night fireworks.

Here is what you need to know:

Festival hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The festival is at 777 Lynn St., but parking is offsite. Free shuttle bus service will run from two spots:

  • Herndon High School, 700 Bennett St. The Herndon High School stop is to the left of the big rock at the High School entrance.
  • Worldgate Shopping Center, 13037 Worldgate Dr. The Worldgate stop is east of the lower level parking  garage entrance off Worldgate Drive.

You can also bike to the festival. The Herndon Festival features a free bike valet provided by volunteers.

There will be three stages with musical performers. Full schedules can be found on the Herndon Festival website.

There will also be a Kids Alley childrens’ area with kid-friendly entertainment.

New this year: the NoVA E-Sports Cup League of Legends video game tournament. League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena video game. Following an online round-robin qualifier among 20 teams, the competition will culminate with the top five in the final rounds by the Depot Stage.

There will be 5K and 10K runs and Fitness Expo Sunday morning. The races are open to all ages.

Carnival rides require tickets. Prices:

  • Single Ticket: $1.25
  • Book of 30 Tickets: $30
  • Book of 50 Tickets: $45
  • All-you-can-ride wristband offered for Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost: $16.
