Aperture, the 421-unit Apartment Building Near Wiehle-Reston East, Officially Opens

by RestonNow.com April 13, 2018 at 2:30 pm 19 Comments

Aperture, a five-story, 421-unit building on 11410 Reston Station Boulevard is now officially open. Local officials and professionals behind the project held an official grand opening earlier this month.

The project is the product of a joint partnership by Reston-based developer Chuck Veatch and Bozzuto Group.  It includes studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, as well three courtyards, outdoor cooking stations, a library, a gum and a lounge area.

Developers aimed to create an art-infused community that mixes city and suburban living in a lower-density setting.

Rents for a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment unit with 628 square feet start from $2,010. The rate for a two-bedroom apartment with 1,034 square feet starts from $2,475.

The building includes a Reston Wall, which offers a nod to Reston’s history and developers. Zachary Oxman’s steel sculpture, “Convergence” in the entrance.

Aperture is one of the first residential projects to open next to the new Metro Station.

They should rename the building “Orifice”, because that’s what you’ll have to give up in order to pay that kind of rent.

Are there people who will pay that for this? Scary.

      • Why do you bother?

There’s a ton of money in this area.

So I’ve heard. I don’t have any of it.

  • Dale

Anyone else notice who is in the picture!!!!!

The people of Reston just do not get it!!

    • Tom

Uh no. I can’t read their badges and don’t recognize their faces.

      • Mike M

He is referring to Huggy-with-developers Hudgins.

If she hadn’t been there you would have been complaining that she was hiding. I’m not defending her but it’s no surprise that she would attend the opening of a major project in her area.

          • Mike M

If she hadn’t been there I wouldn’t have noticed. No, I would not be complaining. Why do clowns always want to put words in my mouth. Can’t you be content to argue with what I say? Too hard? Her up front presence confirms that the over development is hers.

      Hudgins the shill

  • Concrete Reston

Reston Now always cropping photos to avoid showing the crazy development behind the discussed development. And LOL $2k/month for a shoebox? What about affordable housing for everyone?

  • Ann S

Just what we needed. Another hideous, overpriced apartment building. Giving us even more congestion. Thank you SO much Cathy Hudgins! I’m sure it is more lucrative to represent developers than it is to serve the interests of actual Restonites.

  • Tim

At least Harrison is nice and made with concrete. This building is cheaply made so enjoy paying ridiculous rent to listen to your neighbors.

  • Tom

How many people making snarky comments here have actually been to this place?

  • Sue

    Ohhhh a Gum, sold!
