Discussing Development Around Herndon Metro — “Herndon has the opportunity to redevelop a series of aging office buildings on Herndon Parkway in conjunction with the opening of the nearby Metro station in 2020. The new transit-oriented area is designed to add more residential and commercial space, and to serve as a transition between residential areas and taller, denser buildings closer to the station entrance.” [Greater Greater Washington]

The Ballstonization of Herndon has already started. The corner of Monroe St and Herndn Parkway is already razed to make room for ‘luxury’ apartments
The developer gold rush is on! Get in quick before they all go!

I am afraid you are right. Elden street in the heart of Herndon is a mess. Patches on patches and potholes everywhere, and that new boxy townhouse complex is just a few feet from the street — with views of that tired shopping strip where Tortilla Factory used to be.

      • OneReally

RIP tortilla factory. Used to love that place.
