Jinya Ramen Bar ‘Coming Soon’ to Reston Town Center

The Reston Town Center spot vacated by a Thai restaurant in May now has a future tenant.

Jinya Ramen Bar, a Japanese ramen restaurant chain, is “coming soon” to 11964 Market Street, according to the website.

The move to Reston is part of a larger expansion, with more than 10 other spots slated to open across the country, including California, Georgia, Lousiana and Texas.

The chain has already set up restaurants in 12 states and has nearby locations in D.C. and Fairfax, Va. Jinya Ramen Bar also has five locations in Canada.

Busara Thai Restaurant closed on May 19 after 13 years of business at that spot, Reston Now previously reported.

Back in May, an employee with the restaurant told Reston Now the shift from free to paid parking in Reston Town Center drove the decision to shut down as “revenue just went down the drain.”

Well Hen Penny lasted less than 2 years with paid parking, let’s see how the new Thai Restaurant does?

I give them 18 months tops
Restaurant franchises are very susceptible to traffic

  • Why do you bother?

Something tells me that the corporation behind this restaurant has no idea what’s happening and why.

They need a better class of clients to move into town center to attract the DC level clientele

A ramen bar is going to get the foot traffic and pricing required to pay BP’s rent? Call me dubious. I’d never step into a ramen noodle bar even without paid parking. I certainly won’t break the RTC boycott for it.

Not sure if you’re aware, but restaurant ramen shares virtually no similarities with the 15 cent ramen noodle packages you buy at the store. It’s like comparing a nice steak dinner to a Hungry Man frozen meal.

Even fancy Ramen is not that expensive. I don’t think I have ever paid more than $18 for a bowl of Ramen.

We love RTC and we love Ramen. We will definitely support them!

Jinya is ok but they are pricey for what you get. Don’t forget that there’s Ramen and Rice opening in Herndon about 5mins from RTC.

  • amen.

    ramen is ramen.

I no longer see a coming soon location for Reston on the Jinya site…are they still coming to RTC?
