Reston Business Campus, a nearly eight-acre property with four office buildings, officially has a new owner.
The property, which is located at 12320-12350 Pinecrest Road, was bought for $13 million by 10th Street, real estate and development company, for $13 million, according to a report.
The office campus is part of a larger portfolio of commercial space acquired by Maryland-based commercial real estate firm Finmarc Management, Inc. four years ago.
Tenants in the campus include Goldfish Swim School and Kiddie Academy of Reston.

The sun rises again this week for a locally owned restaurant that specializes in kabobs and gyros.
After nearly five years, Reston Kabob is reopening today (Monday) at 11830 Sunrise Valley Drive.
The restaurant was forced to close its location in Reston International Center’s convenience center due to JBG Smith’s planned Reston Heights project, which includes 385 residential units.
Masoud Shoja, the owner, told Reston Now that the soft launch is planned today.
Reston Kabob will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A major project to improve sidewalks and bus stops along South Lakes Drive is set to be completed by the summer.
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is planning to complete missing sections of the sidewalk on the north side of South Lakes Drive and improve existing sidewalk between Greenskeeper Court and Twin Branches Road.
The project, which was first developed by the Reston Metrorail Access Group in 2009, will also include making six bus stops ADA- friendly.
Both projects are both in the construction phase and will be finished by early summer, according to Robin Geiger, a spokesperson for FCDOT.
Geiger said that the sidewalk on the Southside is 45 percent complete and the trail project on the Northside has just begun.
“The intent is to complete the majority of the work on the Southside prior to moving construction activities to the northside,” Geiger said.

After more than a year of preparation, a new juice bar in the Junction Square neighborhood of Herndon has announced its opening date.
Vb Juice Bar plans to open on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The business hopes to transform the juice bar experience by offering “total ingredient transparency,” according to the company.

Macedon Technologies, a privately-held software company, plans to invest $1.65 million to expand its corporate headquarters in Reston.
The expansion is expected to create 147 jobs, according to a Thursday press release by Gov. Ralph Northam.
The company, which is an Appian platform partner and provides programs for managing workflow and business, plans to lease 12,000 square feet at 11694 Plaza America Drive, next to its current offices at the shopping center.

A new glass recycling program that went into effect in Fairfax County last year has shattered expectations, officials say.
The policy shift resulted in the placement of several purple bins across Northern Virginia for glass recycling. The county no longer accepts glass containers in its curbside recycling program.
More than four million pounds of recyclable glass has been collected since the program began.
The continent’s largest glass recycler, Strategic Materials, is now moving the county’s glass to a processing plant in Lorton. Glass will be sold to manufacturers of different glass products.
A spokesperson for Strategic Materials said that Fairfax County produced particularly clean, usable glass.
“Fairfax County probable has the highest quality of material we’ve seen in a drop-off program,” said Laura Henneman, Vice President of marketing and communications for the company.” The trial glass load was about 98 to 99 percent usable glass, which is incredible.”

The Capital Burger, which promises to bring a “luxe burger” experience, will open in Reston Town Center next. week.
The restaurant, which is an extension of The Capital Grille, will open on Jan. 27 at 11853 Market Street inside the Hyatt Regency.

Several Reston-based companies made it to a national list that recognizes employers for dedication to diversity and inclusion.
The yearly list of 500 companies, which is compiled by Forbes magazine, included three Reston-based companies and 13 companies in Fairfax County.
SAIC, an information technology company that stands for Science Applications International Corporation, ranked #91 on the list. Leidos, which is opening up its headquarters in Reston Town Center soon, got the 455th spot while Bechtel, an engineering and construction company, got the 500th spot.
“The workforce today – and the workforce of tomorrow – want to see a commitment to diversity and inclusion by employers, and it is a testament to these Fairfax County companies’ efforts to attract talented employees from all backgrounds and walks of life that they are part of this impressive national ranking,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
Forbes’ list was compiled using survey data from a sample of more than 60,000 U.S. employees. Other factors like diversity levels among executives, leadership positions responsible for diversity, and the presence of a diverse company culture were also considered as part of the determination.

The Fairfax County Police Department’s Reston District Station is hosting a community meeting next week.
The station’s neighborhood patrol unit will discuss their mission, training and community engagement efforts on Jan. 28.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the North County Governmental Building (1801 Cameron Glen Drive).
This month’s meeting is coordinating through FCPD’s Citizen Advisory Committee, which aims to create an opportunity for dialogue between residents and local police districts.

A bill that no longer requires voters to provide an excuse to cast an absentee ballot cleared the Senate this week.
The bill, which was introduced by Sen. Janet Howell (D-Reston) allows registered voters to cast an absentee ballot in any election where the voter is qualified to cast a ballot.
Howell’s bill was part of a package of bills that tweak the voting process in Virginia.
Other proposals, which got a green light from the Senate earlier this week, include designating Election Day as a state holiday and extending the deadline for the receipt of military and overseas absentee ballots.
Proposals in the House and Senate to remove photo ID requirements were killed in committee.
The proposals would have allowed voters to show registration statements, bank documents or other government-issued paperwork with the name and address of the voter.
Howell’s bill passed in the Senate by a 31-9 vote.

The Herndon Police Department announced an arrest in a 2019 sexual assault case yesterday (Tuesday).
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for sexual assault on Saturday, Jan 18. The incident happened on Oct. 17 on the 600 block of Dulles Park Court, according to authorities.
The suspect is believed to have had sexual contact with a minor that he knew.
Due to privacy restrictions for minors, no other information about the incident was made public.
Two businesses were robbed over the long weekend, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
On Monday, Jan. 20, a man threatened a clerk at CVS Pharmacy (2525 Centreville Road) with a knife and stole cash from multiple registers. Police described the suspect as a black man who is likely in his early 20s or late teens. The incident happened around 8 a.m.
Streetshares (1900 Campus Commons Drive) was also robbed on Sunday, Jan. 19. Police believe someone entered the business at around 5:55 p.m. that day and stole cash.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, two victims were assaulted by two other men as they walked on the 13200 block of Poener Place shortly after 1 p.m. Police believe the men stole phones from the victims.
“The first suspect is described as a 20-30-year-old heavy set Hispanic man with a full beard. The second suspect is described as an 18-21-year-old Hispanic man,” police said.
