Onelife Fitness has reopened after a large tree fell on the gym and health club last week.

Although most of the business is fully operational, the mind and body studio will require repairs over the next several weeks.

The fallen tree damaged Onelife’s HVAC unit. Punctures in the roof also led to major flooding.

Onelife is offering additional yoga classes in the main group exercise studio beginning today (Monday):

  • Monday 7:30 p.m., Sunset Yoga
  • Tuesday: Noon, Vinyasa Flow Yoga; 7:30 p.m., Slow Flow Yoga
  • Wednesday 7:30 p.m. Vinyasa Flow Yoga
  • Saturday 11:30 a.m.Power Yoga
  • Sunday: 8:00 a.m. Vinyasa Flow Yoga

“Even though most of the damage was in the Mind/Body studio, the team has worked non-stop since Tuesday night and we will be able to host classes on Monday morning,” Nancy Terry, senior vice president of marketing at US Fitness Holdings, told Reston Now.

The kids club opened last Wednesday and all amenities in the women’s locker room opened later in the week.

Onelife Fitness is located at 11445 Isaac Newton Square.

Reston Association’s employees are working to remove a large tree that collapsed into Lake Thoreau during a recent storm.

Unlike previous trees that were removed with a crane, the tree in Lake Thoreau is being removed with saws and the help of boats.

RA also worked in coordination with a homeowner to make the project happen.

“With every project, we make sure it’s done safely and in a safe manner,” said Ali Khatibi, RA’s Central Services Facility manager, in a recent Reston Today video.

The homeowners association only removes trees on its properties. To request tree removal, residents should call 703-437-7658.

The calm after the storm has descended after a tornado touched down briefly Friday night.

Local fire and rescue personnel spent much of the night clearing a tree that had fallen on a parked pickup truck on Center Harbor Road in Reston. Crews used chainsaws to cut up the tree to open the road. The truck’s owner was not inside the truck at the time.

Scattered downed trees still rested on roads and sidewalks early Saturday morning, including several near Lake Anne Village Center. A house near Quietree and Crosswind Drives was condemned after a tree fell through the roof.

Although the National Weather Service confirmed the tornado touched down, the service has not yet determined the severity of the storm. It will make an announcement after a storm survey during daylight hours today (Saturday).

Restonians reported whistling winds and punctuated bangs that suggest the tornado moved from Bennett Road to the Wiehle Avenue and Lakeport Recreation Area.

Back-to-back thunderstorms that ripped through Reston late Thursday afternoon left behind noticeable damage.

The Capital Weather Gang said the strong winds may have been a microburst.

The high winds knocked over many trees, and power is out in more than 2,500 Reston-area homes, said Dominion Virginia Power.

Here is what you need to know:

Many of the power outages appear to be along Lawyers and Glade Roads.

A tree fell on a power pole on Fox Mill Road near Fox View Way, knocking out power. Fox Mill Road was closed as of 6:30 p.m.

Reston Parkway Southbound is very backed up due to traffic lights not working. Fairfax County Police are on the scene directing traffic.

A downed tree is blocking Glade Drive near Millennium Lane.

So far, there are no reports of injuries from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

If you have to be somewhere, please check road conditions before you go.

This story will be updated if there is any additional info.
