Two Herndon men have been arrested in connection with the April 21 robbery of an Exxon in Sterling.

Jorge A. Alvarado-Soriano, 19, and Elias G. Guzman, 20, were arrested and charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Police believe the suspects entered the convenience store of the gas station at 45601 Falke Plaza at around 1:15 p.m. One suspect jumped over the counter as the second suspect attempted to purchase a drink from the store clerk. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

Although no weapons were displayed during the robbery, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office described the robbery as “strong-armed.”

Both suspects are being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. Alvarado-Soranio was arrested yesterday (April 23) and Guzman was arrested on April 17.

A 19-year-old man from Herndon was arrested in connection with an abduction in Sterling Thursday night, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

When Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic incident, the female victim said that she had been with friends when two people she knew arrived and forcibly pulled her into a vehicle against her will, according to the police report. One of the two people had previously assaulted the victim, police said.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Thursday (May 30) in the 400 block of Bailey Court.

Deputies arrested and charged Carlos Diaz of Herndon with strangulation and abduction and Maudillio Tuche, 41, of Sterling with abduction.

Both are being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old Herndon man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 29, with statutory rape against a person he knows, according to the Herndon Police Department.

Carlos Josue Castillo was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

Fairfax County police arrested a Reston woman and a D.C. man in connection with credit card theft and larceny after the man was found in someone else’s car.

The incident occurred on Friday (May 31) shortly before 4:30 a.m. at Camberly Avenue and Highland Street in Springfield.

While checking the area for a suspicious person, police found and arrested a man inside a car that didn’t to belong to him. The police also arrested a Reston woman associated with the man who was found nearby, according to the police report.

“The investigation led to the recovery of a stolen car, a stolen firearm, and found the man and the woman had entered several cars in the area,” according to the report.

The 28-year-old man was charged with three counts of credit card theft, auto theft, larceny of a firearm, possession of a schedule I/II drug and petit larceny. The 26-year-old woman was charged with three counts of credit card theft and one count of petit larceny.

In a separate incident, a Herndon homeowner reported on Saturday, May 25, that someone entered their garage overnight and stole personal property in the 13000 block of Monterey Estates Drive, according to FCPD.

Herndon police arrested a Herndon woman in connection with a domestic assault that caused her husband’s death, according to the Herndon Police Department.

Thuan Tran, 79, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries last Tuesday (Feb. 19) after he was assaulted in his home in the 400 block of Patrick Lane, police say.

Police took his wife, 77-year-old Nhan Pham, into custody at the scene and charged her with malicious wounding.

Tran died on Friday (Feb. 22) “as a result of the injuries sustained during this incident,” according to the report.

Pham is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Herndon police detectives are working with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to amend the charges, according to the report.

Fairfax County police arrested a man who was living in a vacant Reston apartment.

The property manager for the apartment in the 1800 block of Oracle Way alerted police about the man on Friday, Feb. 15. Police found the man and confirmed he was not a resident, according to the report.

Police arrested and charged 23-year-old Michael Spruill of no fixed address with unlawful entry and destruction of property.

Sheriff’s deputies found a stolen gray car without license plates in Herndon. The car was stolen last Tuesday (Feb. 19) in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The case stolen auto case is still under investigation.

Herndon police are investigating their own stolen auto case. A 2008 Grey Pontiac Vibe was reportedly stolen between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. last Tuesday (Feb. 19) after it was parked in the 1000 block of Knight Lane, and the key was left inside the unlocked car.

Herndon police are investigating an armed robbery that happened in the 1100 block of Elden Street last Monday (Feb. 18). A man demanded personal property from a victim and then ran away when the victim tried to call the police, according to police. The victim’s personal property was recovered.

“The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 19-21 years of age wearing a black blue hoodie/jacket with the hood up and black pants,” according to the report.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Reston man on Valentine’s Day after he allegedly assaulted a woman in Sterling.

Deputies responded around 1 p.m. on Valentine’s Day to the 400 block of Bailey Court — the area where a female reported that a man she knows unlawfully entered her residence twice that day.

The man woke up the woman after entering her home in the morning and then fled with the woman’s purse after another resident in the home confronted him, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

“He then returned later in the day and again entered the home unlawfully,” the report says, adding that the man grabbed the woman and would not allow her to use her phone to call for help.

“The suspect then pushed the victim and a brief altercation ensued” before the man fled the area, police say.

Police arrested 20-year-old Chester S. Wesley of Reston and charged him with two counts of burglary, two counts of simple assault, trespassing, stalking, petit larceny, grand larceny, abduction and robbery.

Wesley is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Herndon police are trying to find the armed robber who took off with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Herndon business.

The robber entered the business in the 1100 block of Crestview Drive shortly after midnight on Feb. 10, according to the Herndon Police Department. The suspect then “displayed a weapon and indicated to the victim he wanted cash” before getting away.

“The suspect is described as possibly a black male, wearing all black, a mask, and gloves,” according to the Herndon Police Department.

The case is currently under investigation.

Herndon police say an unknown number of suspects broke a basement window and entered a Herndon home in the 800 block of Locust Street sometime between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. Nothing was reportedly taken from the home. Police are currently investigating the case.

A burglar broke into a Great Falls home and stole personal property on Friday, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The homeowner came home at 8:25 p.m. on Feb. 1 to find the front door open and rooms in disarray. Police found evidence that someone had forced entry to the rear sliding door of the home in the 10000 block of Park Royal Drive, according to the report.

Deputies arrested a 34-year-old Herndon woman at the Ashburn CVS on Saturday (Feb. 2), according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 7:36 p.m., deputies responded to a call for a woman acting upset inside the store in the 44800 block of Russell Branch Parkway. The woman was unable to maintain her balance while standing, according to the report. Deputies found narcotics and drug paraphernalia on the woman and charged her with public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia.

She is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a secured bond.

That same day, Herndon police responded to a call of shots fired in the 900 block of Barton Oaks Place shortly after midnight. Officers checked the area, but did not find any suspects, according to the Herndon Police Department. Later that same morning, police responded to a call of a bullet that was found inside a home nearby. No injuries were reported.

Police are still investigating the case.

A Herndon man pleaded guilty on Friday to running a prostitution ring with a man from Sterling.

After a nearly year-long investigation, 32-year-old Luis Bonilla-Hernandez of Sterling and 23-year-old Eliazar Duran Mota of Herndon were charged in July with two counts of felony receiving money from earnings of a female prostitute and two misdemeanor counts of using vehicles to promote prostitution, Reston Now previously reported.

The two men, who ran the prostitution business out of their homes, picked up women each week from Union Station before transporting them around northern Virginia to commercial sex customers — charging between $30 and $40 each for dozens of “commercial sex transactions,” according to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

“The defendants would advertise the women with business cards purporting to be tied to an automobile shop, and they would tell Hispanic patrons via word of mouth that the cards related to prostitution,” according to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Police found evidence of prostitution and over $14,000 in cash when they searched Bonilla-Hernandez’s house.

Duran Mota and Bonilla-Hernandez both pleaded guilty in connection to the prostitution of five adults and to one count of interstate travel or transportation in aid of a racketeering enterprise.

They each face up to five years in prison. Their sentencing is set for April 12.

Two men pleaded guilty today to running a prostitution business that catered to the Hispanic population in northern Virginia over the past three years.

According to court documents, Luis Bonilla-Hernandez, 32, of Sterling, and Eliazar Duran Mota, 23, of Herndon, ran the prostitution business out of their homes. Each week, the defendants would obtain a woman to work in prostitution for a week at a time. The women, known as “Treinteras,” would travel by bus to Union Station in Washington, D.C. from states such as Pennsylvania and New York. The defendants then picked up the women from Union Station and transported them throughout northern Virginia to commercial sex customers. The defendants would advertise the women with business cards purporting to be tied to an automobile shop, and they would tell Hispanic patrons via word of mouth that the cards related to prostitution.

The women performed over a dozen commercial sex transactions each day, charging between $30 and $40 each time. After the prostitution dates, the women were required to turn all of their money over to the defendants, with a portion of the proceeds returned to the women at the end of the week. After a woman worked for a week, the defendants would switch out their “inventory” by obtaining a new woman from Union Station to work in prostitution throughout northern Virginia.

When law enforcement executed a search warrant on Bonilla Hernandez’s house, they recovered evidence of prostitution and over $14,000 in cash. Both defendants pleaded guilty in connection with the prostitution of five adult victims.

Bonilla-Hernandez and Duran Mota pleaded guilty to one count of interstate travel or transportation in aid of a racketeering enterprise. The defendants each face a maximum of five years in prison when sentenced on April 12, 2019. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

This matter was investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which is composed of FBI agents, along with detectives from the Fairfax County Police, Arlington County Police, Prince William County Police, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Leesburg Police, Alexandria City Police, Washington Metropolitan Police, Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, George Mason University Police, United States Marshal’s Service, and agents of various Office of Inspector Generals. This matter was brought to the task force by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

G. Zachary Terwilliger, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Matthew J. DeSarno, Special Agent in Charge, Criminal Division, FBI Washington Field Office, and Michael L. Police arrested and charged Juwan Seegars, a 23-year-old man from Reston, with destruction of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, along with 20-year-old Samir Abdalmajied of Springfield on New Year’s Day.

Police arrived at 8 a.m. at the Pleasant Acres Motel (12723 Lee Highway) in Fairfax after three people broke into a room at the motel after being told they could not rent a room, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police told the three people to come outside and then arrested them. While searching the room, police found a loaded pistol and digital scale.

Police also arrested and charged a 17-year-old girl who was in the room with destruction of property. She had outstanding petitions from Prince William County.

Loudoun County police arrested three men from Herndon in separate incidents on New Year’s Day in Sterling.

Aa sheriff’s deputy observed 37-year-old Oscar A. Flores Avila of Herndon unable to keep his balance in the 150 block of Enterprise Street in Sterling at 2:36 a.m. on Jan. 1, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Avila was arrested and charged with being drunk in public. He has since been released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.

In a separate incident on the same day, deputies responded to the 455500 block of E. Severn Way in Sterling at 4:12 a.m. for a report of disorderly subjects in a hotel. Police arrested and charged 23-year-old Muhammad Aatif of Ashburn and 22-year-old Billan Waberi of Herndon with being drunk in public and disorderly conduct. Additionally, Aatic was charged with possession of marijuana.

Aatif was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 secured bond. Waberi was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Later that day, deputies responded to the 150 block of Enterprise Street again for a report of possible narcotics activity at 1:36 p.m.

Loudoun County police arrested 22-year-old Kevin Urbina-Morales of Herndon and charged him with being drunk in public. He was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.

The Herndon Police Department is investigating a purse-snatching that took place on Dec. 28 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive. The victim reported to the police that after she left a bank two men took her purse and ran off. The purse contained an undisclosed amount of cash, various forms of identification and insurance cards, as well as bank cards, the report said.

Herndon police are also investigating a commercial burglary that took place sometime in the overnight hours of last Wednesday (Jan. 2) in the 900 block of Herndon Pkwy. “An unknown individual forced entry into the business through a back door and took an undisclosed amount of cash,” the report said.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help find a Sterling teen who left his school bus stop on Sept. 20.

Bryan Ortega-Henriquez, 15, was last seen around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. According to sheriff’s deputies, he did not go to school. He is described as a white male, 5’11” tall with a weight of 189 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.

Sheriff’s deputies believe he is likely in the Herndon area with his friends and recently moved to Sterling from Herndon. He was in contact with his family on Sept. 21 but has not returned home.

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery in Sterling last month, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Jordan McNally, 18, of Herndon, and a minor from Centreville were charged with robbery and attempted robbery on Friday. McNally was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of the minor.

Deputies believe the teens were involved in two incidents near the 22300 block of S. Sterling Boulevard on Dec. 23.

According to a Dec. 27 report about the incident, two suspects demanded cash from a man and his son as they walked a business in the area. One suspect appeared to brandish a box cutter during the incident.

That same day, the suspects approached a teenager in the same shopping center. One suspect demanded cash while showing a possible firearm in his waistband. A small but undisclosed amount of cash was taken by the suspects, according to the report.

McNally is being held on no bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and the juvenile is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
