Reston’s Pet of the Week is Pav, an easy-going 4-year-old kitty who loves to play.

Here’s what his friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about him:

4-year-old Pav is curious and confident and loves exploring his environment. In the morning he loves watching birds from a safe distance, pouncing on his toys, and jumping into boxes and hiding. He’s playful and energetic. When it’s time to settle down, he likes long afternoon naps in a sunny window and will keep you warm during the nights on a warm, soft bed.

Pav is friendly and well socialized and gets along well with everyone from young kids to big dogs. He is an easy-going cat and loves being engaged. He is healthy, with full shots, neutered, microchipped, and no health issues.

He would like to be an only cat.

Reston’s Pet of the Week is Twinkles, a short-haired cat who’s spent the past year in a West Virginia shelter awaiting her forever home.

Here’s what she told her friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team:

Hi y’all! My name is Twinkles. I am a sweet, vocal, loud purring, snuggly tuxedo cat from West Virginia. I came to the Fancy Cats Rescue Team after spending over a year in a West Virginia shelter. (Can you believe it?!)

Right now I am enjoying spending time with my foster family and getting a well-deserved, relaxing reprieve from shelter life. Within less than a week, I have become a snuggle bug to my foster mom. I chirp to greet my housemates when they enter the room!

I am 3 years old, female and in good health. I would do well with other kitties or as an only cat. If you wish to learn more about me, you can fill out an adoption application online, and/or check out my Instagram @twinkles_little_cat.

Reston’s Pet of the Week is Leeta. She’s available for adoption locally.

Here’s what her friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team have to say:

Meet Leeta! This poor baby has had a rough start to her life. Her previous “owners” kept Leeta locked in a crate outside without showing her the slightest bit of kindness. Luckily for Leeta, Fancy Cats & Dogs came along to rescue her! Leeta is a very happy girl who is always smiling even when she sleeps.

She is crate trained well and, as long as she can see you, she does not cry, whine or bark while in the crate. She has some training going as she knows basic commands and minds well while on a walk. She seems to learn routines well.

Leeta’s foster thinks she would thrive in a loving home where she is the only pet. She craves so much attention and love that she’d prefer not to share you!

She loves to run and would love a running companion! Toys that squeak and crinkle are her favorites.

Meet Uma and Circus, 10-year-0ld kitties who are available for adoption locally.

Here’s what their friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about them:

Uma and Circus were pulled when their time was up at a Maryland shelter. Big boy Circus is calm and loves being pet. He’s very easygoing and may seem slightly hesitant at first but quickly warms up and then shows you what a social but gentle giant he is. Circus is a playful guy if you initiate it and is happy to catch the feather wand over and over again.

His pal, Uma, is a sleek house panther and takes her playing very seriously. Once you give her the feather toy, she will not let go of it — it’s HERS! She’s a very chatty girl, and if you can get a very fun dialogue going with her, she will keep responding! While Uma is a very social lady, she does have a diva side, so it’s important to know when she is overstimulated by too much playing or petting. (A thumping tail on any cat is a sure sign!) These 10-year-olds are housed at our adoption center at the Chantilly PetSmart.

Are you, Uma and Circus the perfect trio?

This boy is well on his way to house training, and you will love the way he prances when he sees you. He loves a good game of fetch, and if you need someone to cuddle up with, he’s your guy. Pet of the Week: Scott

Meet Reston’s newest Pet of the Week, Scott. Scott is a friendly guy who’s just looking for his scratcher-in-chief.

Here’s what his friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about him:

Scott is a little bit shy at first, but once he knows he’s home, he wants to tell you all about it!

He’s got a big loud meow and a bigger purr. He likes to be petted and held. He loves to play with string toys — or really any toys. He doesn’t need constant attention and will settle in for a nap or a bird watch when you’re busy with other things. This young man is ready for action when you’ve got a spare moment! He’s great with the litter box and loves a good ear scratch.

Will you be his scratcher-in-chief and give this little love bug a forever home?

Meet Reston’s newest Pet of the Week, Hank. This good boy is looking for his forever home.

Here’s what Hank’s friends at NOVA Pets Alive! had to say about him:

Hank is 6 months old, 40 pounds and an all around good boy! He gets along with other dogs and doesn’t appear to be bothered by cats.

His foster mom says: “Hank is a sweet, friendly boy who bonds very quickly and will not let you out of his sight but is not obtrusive — will just sit or lay calmly nearby. He is good at matching the pace of the surroundings; if we are on a walk or playing he is excited and active, but when relaxing he is quiet and relaxed as well. He is a great dog and any adopter would be lucky to have him.”

Here’s what Adam’s friends at Little Buddies Adoption and Humane Society had to say about him:

Adam is a large-framed boy. Weighing in at just under 15 pounds, he is long and solid.

Adam is calm, sweet and easygoing. He loves affection and sleeps in bed with his foster mom. Adam has no teeth but that doesn’t affect his eating. He enjoys both wet and dry food. He like toys and has fun batting them around.

Based on his personality, Adam might prefer a quieter home where he will receive one-on-one attention.

Meet Cute Chloe, a 2-year-old terrier who’s looking for her home sweet home.

Here’s what Cute Chloe’s friends at Safe Haven Puppy Rescue have to say about her:

Look at that face! Chloe is a gorgeous 2-year-old terrier who just LOVES to be with her humans, and at 43 pounds, she’s the perfect size to cuddle.

She came to the shelter as a stray, underweight and with a few scars. She put on a few pounds, her scars have healed and she’s learning that humans are actually pretty cool, especially when giving belly rubs. She is wary around other pups so we are looking for a family without any other pups. We believe in time she will be fine with other pups with the proper introductions, but for now she is enjoying the one-on-one attention, and we think she deserves it.

She enjoys a fenced backyard, but honestly, this is the pup you are looking for if you want a TV cuddle buddy. She wants nothing more than to hang out with her human.

Here’s what Ranger’s friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about him:

Ranger is a very sweet 10-year-old male looking for his forever home. He is very easygoing and enjoys napping most of the day away. He will gladly sit on the couch next to you for hours! He has a very calm disposition but does get the kitty zoomies when chasing a laser pointer! He loves to communicate with you when he wants attention, especially in the mornings when he is being fed. He is a great cat and is so deserving of a loving home!

Meet Jenny, a sweet, affectionate 3-year-old hound mix available for adoption locally.

Here’s what her friends at NOVA Pets Alive! had to say about her:

Jenny is 3 years old and around 60 pounds.

Jenny’s foster mom says: ‘Jenny is an incredibly sweet dog who will take as much love and affection as she can get! She’s crate trained and leash trained. She’s a little bit of a snob when it comes to her food but is also very gentle when accepting treats. She would make a great family dog. She’s about medium energy — she’ll happily go on hour-long walks, play with a ball or relax on the dog bed in the living room with everyone.’

Jenny would prefer to be the only dog in the home but will happily share her space with some human siblings!

Are you and Jenny the perfect match? If you’re interested in meeting her virtually, apply at novapetsalive.org/adopt.

Say “hi” to Alaska, a sweet and cuddly girl who’s available for adoption locally.

Here’s what her friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about her:

Alaska is a sweet and cuddly girl. She’s an easygoing and laidback cat and even loves belly rubs.

When she’s not lounging around on her comfy cat blanket, she likes to follow and lay down next to her foster. She has been around small dogs and doesn’t pay any mind to them! She will love her human more than other animals. It is unknown how she is with another cat.

Her meows sound like she’s saying “mama.” She loves treats and she has great litter-box manners. When she arrived at her foster home, she was buried in her bed in the carrier for five minutes before she became a cuddle-bug.

Could you and Alaska be the perfect match?
