Meet Charming Chad, a 10-pound terrier mix with a big personality!

Here’s what his friends at Safe Haven Puppy Rescue had to say about him:

Charming Chad is just that — so charming! He is all of 10 pounds with a HUGE personality. He is 2 years old and just a love. He is with one of our wonderful fosters in Northern Virginia, and they say he has been a delight and gets along well with her two pups and kids. He seems to be house-trained and fully vaccinated.

He has been a joy to have with us, but he is ready to go to his forever family. We’re confident he will make his adopters a terrific companion. This charming guy is a nice blend of friendly affection and normal playfulness and will bring lots of love to any home.

Pet of the Week: Triscuit and Piper

Say “hi” to Triscuit and Piper, two energetic kitties who are up are adoption locally.

Here’s what their friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about this duo:

Sweet Piper is full of energy and is fearless jumping up in the cat trees even though she only has one eye. Initially she was shy, but it didn’t take long before she was ready to play with all the other cats at the lounge. She’s good with adults, kids and especially other cats, so she will need to have a companion.

Triscuit is very playful and energetic. He loves to lick everyone and likes to cuddle with humans. He’s comfortable hanging around the cats but is learning to like the attention he’s been given while at Patriot Cat Lounge. Some of his favorite toys are the wands with birds or worms at the end, but he also loves the ping pong balls. Please come meet him.
See him at instagram hashtag #triscuit_fcdrt.

Will you, Triscuit and Piper make the perfect trio?

Meet Tiny, a sweet and playful boy who’s available for adoption locally.

Here’s what his friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team had to say about him:

Are you Batman seeking Robin, Bert looking for Ernie, peanut butter missing jelly? If so, we’ve got the perfect sidekick for you. His name is Tiny, and he’s a glorious black and white people pleaser, a perfect companion. To show his appreciation and affection, he’ll follow you around, rub against your legs, and have a chat with you. In a new situation, Tiny might be shy at first. But before long, his sweet and social side will come through. Tiny is a playful and active guy who likes nothing better than a good game of ‘chase the feather’ with you.

Tiny’s early life was nothing to purr about. Born in Kuwait, he was found in the street with a broken skull. His rescuers got him medical care and lovingly nursed him back to health. Other than a slight wobble when he walks, you’d never know this happy and robust boy went through such trauma.

Your new best buddy is waiting for you. Come meet Tiny at Patriot Pawsabilities soon. See him at instagram hashtag #tiny_fcdrt

Meet Adorable Anna, a 4-year-old Jack Russell mix available for adoption locally.

Here’s what her friends at Safe Haven Puppy Rescue have to say about her:

This precious 4-year-old weighing in at 22 pounds is just the sweetest girl! We believe her to be part Jack Russell terrier and possibly hound with those beautifully long legs of hers!

She was picked up as a stray so we are not sure of her past, but we know we want her future to be bright. She is a bit shy at first, but once she has a chance to settle in she warms right up. We are looking for a family that has older children and a nice fenced backyard for her to play and run around in. Her foster mom says she is house trained and introducing her to a life where she is loved has been fun — she is getting really good at sleeping on couches and cuddling!

She has been a joy to have with us, but she is ready to go to her forever family — we’re confident she will make his adopters a terrific companion. This beautiful girl is a nice blend of friendly affection and normal puppy playfulness and will bring lots of love to any home.

Pet of the Week: Aslan

Meet Aslan, an affectionate senior kitty with a resting grumpy face.

Here’s what his friends at Fancy Cats Rescue Team have to say about him:

Aslan is a senior with a sweet heart and a loving purr.

He has a default grumpy face, but don’t let that fool you. He purrs so loud the vet has trouble hearing his heart beat. He will accept pets and head rubs all day long.

He is marked special needs as he is in the beginnings of renal failure, but we are still hoping to find this angel a forever home for his final years with dignity and lots of attention and love. He deserves it!

Pet of the Week: Tilda

Meet Tilda, a 5-year-old pit bull mix available for adoption locally.

Here’s what her friends at HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team) have to say about her:

Tilda is a very sweet, friendly, affectionate dog that loves attention, physical contact and being petted and just wants to be loved.

She loves going for long walks and playing fetch in the backyard and is also happy to simply relax and nap near her human when working on the computer or snuggle up while watching TV in the evening. She loves her foster mom and follows her around the house. She also enjoys playing with toys and other dogs and watching the work outside from the window.

Tilda is still adjusting to all the changes that have happened in her life. She is intelligent and capable of learning quickly but needs a confident leader who will set boundaries and provide consistent training. She has learned to do “sit” and “down” with both verbal and hand signals. Her ideal home would be a low-key home where someone is home with her much of the day (even post-COVID).

Tilda likes to play with the other dog in her foster home, but we think she would also do well as an only dog in the home. She is friendly with kids, but due to her exuberance and tendency to jump up on people, she would be too much for most small kids.

Huey is a very sweet and caring cat. Once he gets to know you, he will climb up into your lap. He loves to be near his human family and sleep right next to you.

He is also very playful and especially loves to play with his laser light. He also likes to play with his small teddy bear toy, which he throws in the air and chases. He loves to play in water.

He also enjoys being rubbed on top of his head and will sit there with his eyes closed for as long as you pet him there. He loves long pets from his head to the end of his tail.

Meet Tala, a black Shepherd mix puppy available for adoption locally.

Here is what her friends at Safe Haven Puppy Rescue have to say about her:

Tala is a happy, friendly little girl who’s just twelve weeks old and 19 pounds.

She was dropped off at the shelter when she was found wandering on the side of the road so we really don’t know who her parents are but if we have to guess we might say German Shepherd! She has been a joy to have with us but she is ready to go to her forever family — we’re confident she will make some adopter a terrific companion.

This beautiful girl is a nice blend of friendly affection and normal puppy playfulness and will bring lots of love to any home.

Meet Dale, a black male kitten available for adoption locally.

Here is what his friends at Little Buddies Adoption and Humane Society have to say about him:

Dale is a beautiful, black stallion. He was rescued from outside to a home with her mom and siblings. He is looking for a forever home where he can play and purr and just snuggle up when he is tired.

He has a white spot on his belly and his chest. He will purr the moment you pick him up. His brother and he have fun together so he would be good around other cats. He loves to play and has a ton of energy.

He needs a home that will give him a lot of attention and has lots of toys.

Meet Marco, a Border Collie and Corgi mix available for adoption locally.

Here is what his friends at Safe Haven Puppy Rescue have to say about him:

Marco and his brothers Maverick, Mojo and Moose are happy, friendly little boys who are just 9 weeks old and now ready for their forever homes.

They’re all doing great in their foster home, playing and romping as puppies will — they’re such fun to hang out with. Their mom weighs only about 25 pounds and while we don’t know who the father is it seems they won’t get very big, maybe in the 35 to 40 pound range. They might have some corgi or doxie in them as a couple have shorter legs and the mom is also a low rider.

They’re SO CUTE! This great little fella is a nice blend of friendly affection and normal puppy playfulness and will bring lots of joy and love to any home.

Pet of the Week: Mork

Meet Mork, a senior Domestic Short Hair and Tabby mix available for adoption locally.

Here is what his friends at Little Buddies Adoption and Humane Society have to say about him:

Mork is playful and loving. Playing rollerball, where he hits a ball around a track, is his favorite game, and he is a prodigy at it. He can do it lying down, sitting up, using either paw, and lying down with his paw over his head. He even has a tri-level rollerball game which he loves.

Mork took readily to games on a tablet; in fact, he became a high scorer within minutes. Mork can fool his automatic feeder into letting food down by playing with the mechanism. Mork prefers romaine lettuce over iceberg. If you cut up romaine lettuce he’ll come from anywhere in the house.

Mork will sit by you and purr in your ear. He will also sit in your lap. Mork is about ten years old and is in great health.

Here is what his friends at The Feline Foundation of Greater Washington Inc. have to say about him:

If you want a kitten that is a home run, Mac is the one for you. He is outgoing and very affectionate.

Mac warms up very easily to new people. He loves to settle in a lap in the evening and snuggle. During the day he loves to play. He can play for hours on end and will bring his favorite toy to you.

He is around other dogs and cats in his foster home and is affectionate and friendly with both. He would make a great addition to any home.

Pet of the Week: Prada

Meet Prada, a Bichon Frise female available for adoption locally.

Here is what her friends at Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue have to say about her:

Miss Prada is a very sweet little girl who came to us from the shelter, she was found as a stray in terrible shape. She was spayed and given a very much needed dental and had two small lumps removed. She now only has 7 teeth left but has no problem eating small kibble.

We were told she was around 15yrs old, but our vet says ” No way Jose” — this cutie pie is around 10yrs old full of life, loves to play and is as sweet as they come! A little heavy round the mid section but nothing a little exercise cant fix and a calorie controlled diet. PRADA weighs around 15 lbs.

Her eyes are clear, no heart murmurs so she is in good shape! Prada would love a home with a mature family that is home a lot, she loves to ride in the car too. She loves to be outside if the weather is nice.
