The Fairfax County Police Department’s Reston District Station has released new information about a recent robbery at a local 7-Eleven.
Police believe three men and three juveniles were involved in a series of robberies at four local 7-Eleven stores. The suspects were arrested Monday morning after they attempted to rob a store on 10508 Leesburg Pike at around 2:30 a.m. Police tracked a getaway car they believe was used by the suspects.
Michael Ackah, 20, of Alexandria was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Amon Headley and Victor Obinim, both 18 and from Alexandria, were charged with robbery. Three additional juvenile boys were arrested and charged with robbery.
Other robberies followed a similar pattern, according to police. A group of suspects entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded cash at the following locations:
- 6820 Old Dominion Drive (June 21, 1:54 a.m.)
- 2501 Centreville Road (June 22, 3:37 a.m.)
- 6910 Bradlick Shopping Center (June 29, 2:58 a.m.)
Additional charges related to the other robberies are pending.

Local police have arrested four suspects in connection with a robbery at 7-Eleven (10508 Leesburg Pike).
Police believe four people entered the store, displayed a handgun and stole cash from the registers on Monday, July 1 at 2:38 a.m.
After the suspects left in a car, a lookout was broadcasted to neighboring jurisdictions. Deputies from the Loudoun County’s Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspects.

In a separative incident, a Realtor entered a home on the 11300 block of Geddys Court to discover a man sleeping in one of the bedrooms.
The man, who police described as white and in his 20s, ran off before officers arrived.
A burglary was also reported on the 9600 block of Perkins Farm Lane on June 27 at around 7 p.m. Cash and jewelry was taken from the home.
Another home burglary was reported on the 1600 block of Admirals Hills Court on June 22 at around 5:30 p.m. It’s unclear if anything was taken from the home.

Local police say three teenagers robbed a 7-Eleven in Herndon at gunpoint early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a report to the 7-Eleven at 2501 Centreville Road at 3:44 a.m.
According to the report, three African American men entered the store and stole money and merchandise at gunpoint. The suspects are in their early to late teens, police said.

al police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman on June 11.
The woman told investigators she was attacked by a man she briefly spoke with at Harris Teeter in the Spectrum Center at around 11 p.m.. The woman said the man hit her from the back as she walked along a path away from the grocery store.
The woman was treated for her injuries at a local hospital. Local police were unable to locate the victim’s cellphone and belongings, which were left in the area, according to court documents.
The suspect is described as a white male who is between 50 and 60-years old. He has a skinny build, gray wavy hair, light colored eyes, a wrinkled face and possibly wears glasses.

The Fairfax County Police Department has released new details about a domestic situation that prompted the temporary closure of Lake Newport Road on Friday.
Police said that Carl Robinson, 52, of Reston, refused to leave a home on the 11700 block of Summerchase Circle at around 8:50 a.m. that day.
Robinson, who has multiple warrants from a previous incident, retreated to his home and “refused to exit” after an officer tried to approach him, police said.
The incident prompted local police to close a portion of the road.
Officers from FCPD’s special operations division arrested Robinson on two counts of assault and a violation of a protection order.

In a separate incident, a burglary was reported in a home on the 11900 block of Holly Spring Drive on Tuesday, June 11.
An alarm sounded around 3:15 a.m., prompting the suspect to run away.

Local police helped rescue two lost hikers and two dogs earlier this month.
Ashley Finch, her sister, and two dogs — Lucille and Bo — were lost at Seneca Regional Park in Great Falls after dark.
With only one low-battery phone, the hikers texted 911 at the direction of local emergency staff.
After receiving the text, officers pinpointed their location and texted them a map to guide them toward a nearby house.
The rescue was complicated because of challenging terrain, limited phone service and limited police radio coverage. Both hikers and the dogs were not injured.
“The hikers were then able to work their way toward our helicopter and officers, using their phone flashlight to signal where they were — despite being blanketed by tree foliage and darkness,” the Fairfax County Police Department wrote on Facebook.
When Finch asked how to thank FCPD for their help, the department decided to arrange a union at the dispatch center “so everyone involved would get a chance to meet under less dire circumstances.”
FCPD did not indicate what day the incident occurred.

Local police are investigating a crash involving two motorcycles that happened in late May.
A driver was turning left at the intersection of Reston Parkway and Lawyers Road on May 25 when another motorcyclist collided into his bike.
Donald Collins was arrested for a DWI and was taken to Reston Hospital Center for treatment, according to an affidavit filed on June 5.

A Reston man suffering from hallucinations fired several gunshots against imaginary kidnappers that he said were holding a child hostage in his town home.
The incident happened on May 7, according to court documents filed by the Fairfax County Police Department in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
A police officer arrived on the 1500 block of Poplar Grove Drive after the man told police kidnappers were holding a young child inside his townhome.
When an officer got to the scene, the man ran out of the home with a fully loaded gun, according to police. The officer handcuffed him and searched the townhome.
Police found no one in the home, but did spot two shell casings and evidence that two rounds were fired at a wall. No injuries or damages resulted.
The suspect was released on recognizance, after the man was held involuntarily “for his safety and the safety of the public” under a temporary detention order, according to the documents.
Police executed a search warrant to seize additional weapons from his home.
The suspect was arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of the reckless handling of a firearm on Tuesday (May 21). He will be arraigned on May 28.
Reston Now does not publish the identity of suspects involved in cases with mental health implications.

A 17-year-old from Maryland was arrested in connection with a carjacking on Sunrise Valley Drive last week.
On Monday, May 13, police say that a masked suspect pointed a shotgun at a man who was putting air into his car’s tires and demanded the keys.
The suspect drove away in the stolen car, but police caught up with him a short while later.
The teen was caught with the help of the police’s K9 team, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. He was charged with carjacking and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
In a separate incident, a man entered a home on the 2600 block of New Concorde Court on Wednesday, May 15 at around 3:50 a.m.
Residents discovered the man in their garage after they heard the garage door open. The man ran away when one resident confronted him.
Nothing was reported missing, police said.

A Herndon man was charged in connection with the April 25 robbery of a 7-Eleven on Sugarland Drive in Sterling.
Abdul Abid, 25, was arrested on Friday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office. The first suspect, Zian Rehman, 19, was arrested on May 2.
Police believe one of the suspects pushed an employee on the front counter of the store toward the cash register and commanded the victim to open the register. One suspect took cash from the register while the other took money from the victim’s wallet, authorities said.
The men threatened the employee, but no weapons were used during the robbery.
Both men were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, grand larceny and wearing a mask in public. They are being held without bond.

Child pornography charges were a common theme last week. As we reported, FCPD unveiled 21 new charges related child pornography for a former Herndon High School teacher.
“Mr. Knick Knack,” a children’s entertainer who performed in the area, also faces 10 felony counts of possession of child photography.

Raphael Schklowsky, a drama teacher at Herndon High School, faces 20 felony charges of possession of child pornography and one felony charge of unlawful filming.
Detectives discovered more than 3,500 videos on multiple electronic devices, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Schklowsky, 36, was originally charged with four misdemeanor counts of unlawful filming on April 8.
He was charged with the additional offenses today when he attended a hearing at the Fairfax County Courthouse. He is now being held on no bond.
Schklowsky has been on leave since his April 8 arrest. He was initially charged in early April when a woman told police she found a hidden camera inside an air conditioning vent in a home where she was working. Detectives found evidence of unlawful filming and arrested Schklowsky.

Local police did investigate a report of a gunshot on April 30.
One round was shot into the ground on the 1500 block of Cameron Crescent Drive, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Countywide, FCPD is reminding residents to take safety precautions when they go outside after two women were assaulted on Centreville walking trails last month:
- Run, jog or walk in areas that are familiar to you.
- If you are walking in an unfamiliar location, bring a friend along with you.
- Avoid running, jogging or walking in a poorly lit or secluded area or after dark.
- Tell someone where you’ll be and share your GPS location with them.
- Do not wear headphones or earbuds.
- Switch up your route and pattern so your actions aren’t predictable.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
