Police said the attack took place about 4:45 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Lakes, near the South Lakes Drive Park.

They screened 536 cars, made two DWI arrests, and issued four summonses.
Update, 11:15 a.m. — Fairfax County Police took three suspects into custody at an apartment off of Sycamore Valley Drive. No arrests have been made yet, police said.
Original Story: Fairfax County Police are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery at Reston Town Center Wednesday.
FCPD spokesman Don Gotthardt said a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 11911 Freedom Dr. at 9:09 a.m. and demanded money.
“The man implied he had a gun,” said Gotthardt. “He left with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries.”
As of 9:50 a.m., police had set up a perimeter in the streets around town center and were looking for the suspect by air, ground and with K9 units, said Gotthardt.
The suspect was described by witnesses at the bank as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-7, in his 20s with a goatee. He was wearing a black skullcap and black clothing, witnesses said.
A woman told police a man with a knife attempted to abduct her as she was getting into her car on Wednesday afternoon at Reston Town Center.
Fairfax County Police said the woman was parked in the parking garage at Freedom and Fountain Drives about 3:30 p.m.
A man approached the victim and displayed a knife. The victim screamed loudly; she shouted for help and the suspect walked away, police said.
Officers were able to identify a suspect and obtained a warrant for Derrion M. l.ewis, 27, of Herndon, charging him with abduction.
Police, citing a pending case, did not give details on whether the suspect and victim knew one another or how they identified the suspect so quickly.
Officers have attempted to serve the warrant, but Lewis could not be located. The warrant is on file. The victim did not require medical attention.
Fairfax County Police say threats directed at certain Fairfax County Public Schools — as well as other school districts in Virginia, Maryland, and elsewhere — are a hoax.
The Fairfax County Police Department has determined that online threats of a school shooting that appear to be directed at several FCPS schools are a hoax and not credible.
The parents at those FCPS schools listed in the online messages have been notified.
These same messages have also been directed at other school districts in Virginia, Maryland, and elsewhere.
The “Virginia Clowns” social media account last night (@virginiaclowns and @dmv_clowns) posted threats, echoing a nationwide trend, warning of shootings at a number of DC- area schools.
None of the schools threatened by the accounts are in Reston. The “clowns” mentioned Hayfield High School, Gunston Middle, Holmes Middle and Thomas Jefferson High.

A Reston man was charged with a Felony DUI — at least his fifth offense in the last five years — on Tuesday after he crashed his car into a creek and walked away from the scene, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says.
Deputies were called to the scene at Algonkian Parkway and
Rutherford Circle in Sterling close to midnight.
A witness told officials male driver exited the vehicle andwalked away from the scene towards a footpath.
The driver was later located and identified as Marc A. Dixon, 31, of Reston.
Dixon was arrested and charged with misdemeanor hit and run and Felony DUI. Dixon has been charged with multiple DUI in the last five years, according to LCSO. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
In 2014, Dixon was arrested for driving his car backwards down Rugby Road in Fairfax. During that arrest, Dixon provided false information as well as kicked the door and window of the police vehicle he was in, Fairfax County Police said.
In that incident, Dixon was charged with DUI (fourth offense), refusing breath test, fraudulent information to police, destruction of county property, driving while suspended (DUI related) and improper backing on the highway.

(Update: 10 a.m. – Fairfax County Parkway has reopened)
A car crash investigation has closed all lanes of the Fairfax County Parkway near New Dominion Parkway as of 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Fairfax County Fire Rescue and Fairfax County Police are both at the scene.
Additionally, there is a crash being removed from Reston Parkway and Fox Mill Road as of 9:35 a.m. so steer clear of that area as well.
Reston Now will have more details as they are available.
Fairfax County Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man who witnessed a fight at Southgate Community Center in Reston on Wednesday.
Police were called to the rec center in the 12100 block of Pinecrest Road about 9 p.m. for a report of an assault with a weapon.
The victim, a 48-year-old man, was with his 4-year-old son outside of the center, when he saw a woman arguing with two men. The two men got into a gray/silver sport utility-style car, witnesses told police.
The woman started to walk away from the area when one of the suspects allegedly discharged a gun. The victim was grazed on his upper body.
Further investigation determined that the woman and two men were acquaintances and were there to conduct illegal activity, police said.
One suspect was described as Hispanic; the other black, both in their early 20s. The driver of the car appeared to be a woman, described as Hispanic in her early 20s.
The victim did not require medical attention and the child was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
After a car crash with injuries on Wiehle Avenue earlier this week, many Reston Now readers chimed in that “something needs to be done” about the stretch of Wiehle from Baron Cameron Avenue to Sunset Hills Road.
The road is on a hill in that section and features a slight blind curve. Monday’s crash occurred at Wiehle and Inlet Court. That intersection was the site of nine crashes in 2015, according to Fairfax County Police. It was the second crash at the intersection in 2016.
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver at Wiehle and Chestnut Grove last October, one of three car-vs.-pedestrian incidents in 2015, records show. The woman killed in that crash was crossing Wiehle at dawn outside of a crosswalk.
FCPD points to several intersections as trouble spots on Wiehle. Since the start of 2015, there have been 20 collisions at Wiehle and North Shore Drive. The busy intersection at Baron Cameron has had 17 crashes in that time frame.
There have been 12 crashes at the intersection at Sunset Hills since the start of 2015, FCPD records show. That area continues to be a trouble spot, with the W&OD Trail also crossing Wiehle there. Access to the Silver Line station at Wiehle-Reston East and egress from Fairfax County Fire Rescue Station 25 also complicate things at that intersection.
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation plans a pedestrian bridge to take the W&OD over Wiehle. The $10 million bridge likely won’t be built until 2021, however.
Meanwhile, while it seems Wiehle is an increasingly dangerous road, FCPD spokesman Officer Don Gotthardt points out that incidents are actually down in 2016.
There were 53 collisions on Wiehle in 2015. With a little over three months left to go in 2016, there have been 25 recorded by police. Gotthardt said the reasons for the decline were unknown.
Overall, there have been 78 collisions recorded since the start of 2015, though, which does it make Wiehle a trouble spot. What do you think should be done to make it safer? Tell us in the comments below.

(Updated, 11:30 a.m. – A previous version of the story said the shooting occurred at Cedar Ridge Apartments. The correct address was at Colvin Woods Apartments)
Fairfax County Police are investigating a report that shots were fired in the 11100 block of Becontree Drive on Tuesday night.
Police were called to the area about 9:12 p.m. after reports of several people arguing in the parking lot of Colvin Woods Apartments.
While police were en route, they received several reports of gunshots at the same location. Several vehicles were seen leaving the area after the shots were heard, police said.
When officers arrived on the scene, there were no people or vehicles. One officer found an unspent round (bullet) on the ground.

A man who died in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center over the weekend has been identified as a 53-year-old Herndon man.
Fairfax County Police Detectives from the Major Crimes Division said the man who died on Saturday was Kelly Maurice Scott, 53, of Herndon.
Scott had been incarcerated since his arrest on Sept. 15, 2015. Police said they could not comment on what charges Scott was facing.
Scott was found unresponsive in his cell about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday. Sheriff’s deputies immediately initiated CPR, police said. Rescue personnel arrived at 6:45, and additional police personnel arrived at 6:53. Scott was pronounced dead after extensive efforts to revive him inmate were unsuccessful, police said.
Scott was assigned to a Direct Supervision Unit, where inmates are routinely checked every 30 minutes. Police said nothing appeared to be suspicious.
An autopsy was completed on Monday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner; the cause and manner of death will be included in their formal report.
