President Donald Trump visited the U.S. Customs and Border National Protection Targeting Center on 12379 Sunrise Valley Drive late last week.

At the roundtable with homeland security officials on Friday, Trump touted his immigration plan, which he said was vital to protect the country’s borders, according to the Associated Press.

He also threatened to cut off aid and sanction countries that refuse to accept nationals deported by the United States, according to the news report.

“If they don’t take ’em back, we’ll put sanctions on the countries, we’ll put tariffs on the countries,” Trump said. He added: “They’ll take ’em back so fast your head would spin.”

His administration is seeking billions of dollars for a border wall and major cuts to legal immigration. In return, the administration has proposed plans to create a path to citizenship for people living in the country illegally.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection National Targeting Center works to catch travelers and detect cargo that threaten security, according to its website.

Commemorative bricks for Reston’s annual Founder’s Day are being sold through Wednesday, February 14.

Bricks will be installed on Lake Anne Plaza after Founder’s Day on April 14.  They can be purchased from the Reston Historic Trust and Museum for a tax-deductible contribution of $100 for a standard brick and $250 for a large brick.

The tradition aims to bring Robert E. Simon and his vision for a special and inclusive community to life, according to organizers.

“It is a way for members of the community to leave a legacy or honor a loved one. The bricks are also a tangible and visible way for the community to be a part of the history or Reston,” said Alexandra Campbell, executive director of Reston Historic Trust and Museum.

Founder’s Day is presented by Reston Historic Trust and Museum, Reston Association, Reston Community Center, and Public Art Reston. The event is hosted by Lake Anne Plaza.

The company’s spin-off restaurant, M & S Grill (11901 Democracy Drive) closed on New Year’s Day. It was located just 131 feet from McCormick & Schmick’s, which is open.

A representative from the public relations firm that is handling media inquiries was not immediately available comment.

Since Dec. 20, several stores have announced they will not be returning to Reston Town Center. Most recently, Neyla Mediterranean Bistro closed last week.
